Cliff Schwandner has been a professional fine artist for over thirty years. Working primarily in acrylic and mixed media, his paintings move boldly between abstraction and figuration — large canvases filled with color, tension, and an unmistakable point of view.
His work spans two deeply personal bodies: sweeping abstract compositions built from interlocking planes of saturated color, and a signature portrait series in which geometric facets fracture the human face into something simultaneously alien and deeply familiar. Each painting begins as a question and ends somewhere unexpected.
His paintings have been featured in galleries across the country and live in private collections throughout the United States. Studio visits are welcome by appointment.
Cliff also drew 42 pages of cat cartoons for his wife's cat-obsessed sister. It became a book. Because sometimes the best art is the art you make just for one person.
